WHAT DOES HE SEE (WHEN HE CLOSES HIS EYES)

from the BLACK BERET AND A SILVER BADGE album.

DD39 – COMPILATION OF ARTISTS (Feat. NATALIE ATKINS) – WHAT DOES HE SEE (WHEN HE CLOSES HIS EYES)

Some time ago, NATALIE ATKINS wrote and produced a song called “WHAT DOES HE SEE”, for her father, in his life after operational service in Vietnam.  However, she soon realised that there were many other young returned Aussie ‘diggers’, suffering similar forms of war related stress, i.e. anxiety and chronic PTSD. Natalie has now re-dedicated “WHAT DOES HE SEE,” to all of Australia’s returned young service men and women, who have returned from all the bloody conflicts that Australia has sent its young people to fight in.

WHAT DOES HE SEE”, tells the story of young men who were sent to fight, particularly in Vietnam, and who, despite their heroic actions during their war service, were treated so badly by their fellow countrymen, both during the war, and following their return home.

After enduring the fierce, bloody fighting, the loss of friends and mates, followed by the jeering and the spittle of his fellow Australians, he wonders just how much more pain he will have to endure in his life-time.  The letters from home, all those hopes and dreams, yet he asks for nothing in return; but “WHAT DOES HE SEE” (WHEN HE CLOSES HIS EYES)?

The Aim of ‘Black Beret and a Silver Badge’ and ‘What Does He See (When He Closes His Eyes)

Our Aim is to raise sufficient funds, to be able to sponsor a 'Guide Dog' or an 'Assistance Dog', or both, for at least two wounded ‘Diggers', either servicemen or women. Maybe one person suffering blindness or sight impairment, and maybe another, suffering some form of debilitating war neurosis. The nature of the illness is of no consequence in the overall scheme of things. The gift could well be two 'Guide Dogs' or two 'Assistance Dogs, it will depend entirely on where the need is most required.

The CD I have referred to in my letter, is nearly complete and we expect it to be completed and ready for delivery for ANZAC Day this year, and it is expected that the CD will retail for about $15.00 or so.

You can place your order for this CD by email: blackberet31b@yahoo.com giving your return name and address and the CD will sent to you prior to ANZAC Day this year.
