DD82 – NEVER TOO LATE – SWEET COUNTRY GIRL

MAX RICHARDS originally formed a duo with BOB BROWNE. In the 1970s Max & Bob decided to form their own bands and two very successful show groups were created. Max formed MEN OF COUNTRY with WES GRADY and Bob formed the KIMBERLEY COUNTRY BAND with DAVE KING.

MEN OF COUNTRY recorded several albums and were nominated for The Golden Guitar Awards. Albums released include: COUNTRY CONCEPT, LUSTY LADY & FREE COUNTRY.

The KIMBERLEY COUNTRY BAND released two singles, TOWN CALLED HEARTBREAK & SHERRY WINE.

Bob's later band, KELLY’S HEROES released an album called STAND & DELIVER.

Dave formed BROKEN WHEEL with COL CARTER (RIP) and then formed GEORGE’S RIVER RIPPLES with RON & WARREN DERWENT. The Ripples placed in the top 10 at Starmaker in 1980.

Max and Bob continued to collaborate in the 1980s to work as both MEN OF COUNTRY and KELLY’S HEROES.

Bob spent over 35 years hosting radio programs with 2CT & 2GLF. At 2GLF he created, produced and hosted the massively popular Country On to promote independent country artists.

MAX RICHARDS, BOB BROWNE & DAVE KING have now formed NEVER TOO LATE and their first single release, SWEET COUNTRY GIRL, includes contributions from WES GRADY on pedal steel and vocals by JULIE LORENTE.
